Jackson Pollock - Exercise Physiologist

Jackson has been a practising exercise physiologist for several years now after having completed his Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Queensland University of Technology. He then made the move to Hervey Bay from his hometown of Brisbane and spent over 18 months providing treatment to his clients and enjoying the coastal lifestyle. Jackson began with BT Physiotherapy after relocating to the Sunshine Coast with his partner and is excited to be a part of the team.

During his time at university Jackson learnt about how exercise contributes to the prevention and management of various conditions ranging from acute, to subacute and chronic. His degree allows him to prescribe exercise in a particular style that improves health outcomes in patients experiencing anything from musculoskeletal injuries to diabetes or even types of cancer. With a growing body of research to support the effectiveness of exercise interventions in these populations, Jackson is a true advocate of ‘exercise is medicine’ and carries this philosophy into his practice. Throughout his professional career Jackson has worked with a wide variety of clients consisting of all ages and abilities. Prior to becoming an exercise physiologist Jackson spent several year coaching and promoting junior participation in sport and has worked with children as young as 4 years.

Jackson believes in utilising patient centred care as a primary component of the treatment journey and tailors his approach to treating the person rather than the pathology. He finds great purpose in guiding his patients along the rehab continuum towards self-management and promoting tools used in behaviour change towards healthy lifestyle modifications. He has experience working with defence veterans (DVA), NDIS, Medicare, Workcover and private clientele. He has additional qualifications as a mat work and reformer Pilates instructor and teaches group classes out of our private clinic in Coolum on Fridays.

Jackson also accepts patients at the Mudjimba Clinic on MON – FRI, to book an appointment you can either call the clinic or book online.
